REGIONAL RESEARCH CENTRES
T
he school extends its activities through
two regional research centres
1. Highrange Environmental Research Centre (HERC)
It is located at Nedumkandam, Idukki District of Kerala. It envisages to
conduct and co-ordinate the research projects on different
geo-environmental aspects of Western Ghats, a biodiversity hotspot of the
world.
2. Vembanad Environmental Research Centre (VERC)
School is planning to set-up this station on the banks of Vembanad Lake,
the largest backwater in central Kerala and an important Ramsar site of
India. This field research station envisages to conduct and co-ordinate
research on Aquatic Ecology and Wetland Ecosystem.
