1.   REMOTE SENSING AND GIS DIVISION (DR. R. SATHEESH CENTRE FOR REMOTE SENSING AND GIS)

        The Remote Sensing and GIS Division is equipped with the state-of-the art software for GIS (ArcGIS 8.3), Remote Sensing (Photo Interpretation and Digital Image Processing - ERDAS software ) along with GPS for surveying and mapping. The division has taken up various research and consultancy projects for :

v Satellite aerial photo interpretation

v Digital Image Processing

v GPS Surveying and Mapping

v High volume digitization of maps and documents

v Geostatistical analysis

v Surface modelling geoprocessing and Raster GIS modelling

        The Facility is offering following short term courses as given below and the modules include  :

v Overview of computer peripherals

v Fundamentals of mapping 

v Remote sensing

v Digital image processing (DIP)

v Digital Photogrammetry (DP)

v GIS

v Global Positioning System (GPS)

A)   Geoinformation Science and Technology

            (Remote Sensing , GIS and GPS)

Duration	3 Months (340 hrs) , Both Full time and Part time (Classes will be arranged on Holidays for Part time candidates)
Eligibility	Degree / P.G in Science/ Agriculture / Forestry/ Engineering (Sponsored candidates from Govt./ Quasi Govt./ NGO s/ Industries and Research Fellows)

Selection	First come First serve basis, Seats can be reserved by remitting Prior Registration Fee
Course fee	Rs.15,000 /- ( Include Prior Registration Fee of Rs.1,000 /- ) + Caution deposit  Rs.1,500/- (Refundable) (Bonafide Research Fellows will be given Concession in Course Fee)

B)   Digital Photogrammetry and Digital Image Processing

Duration	2 Months (Full time and Part time) (Classes will be arranged on Holidays for Part time Candidates)

Eligibility	P.G in Science/ Agriculture/ Forestry/ Engineering (Sponsored candidates from Govt./ Industry / NGOs and Research fellows)
Course fee	Rs.12,000/- + Caution deposit Rs.1000/-(Refundable) (Bonafide Research Fellows will be given Concession in Fees)

        Course structure for both the above courses include Theory , Practical and Project work and Evaluation consists of Test paper , Viva and Presentation.

2.   ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS DIVISION

        The division is well equipped with sophisticated equipments and facilities. The course are designed to develop technical knowledge and specific skills for analysis and in organizing research and scientific projects. The courses are well designed by experts  and consists of  lectures, demonstrations, practical  (both field and laboratory).

a.   Water and  Waste Water Analysis
